VIS is sparkling with news with the introduction of the VIS Superstar Pin Set!
Talented DAR members who use their computer technology skills to serve the DAR at any level or title are eligible to earn and purchase the VIS Superstar Pin Set to wear on the official ribbon! The number of hours needed to earn the pin and bars has been revised and are super achievable by all Daughters! Logging your support hours on the VIS Log Record form is the same as in the past!
Pin = 100 volunteer hours
Blue bar = 200 volunteer hours.
White bar = 500 volunteer hours.
· The VIS Superstar Pin Set may be earned by all Daughters regardless of her title or position, as long as she is providing technology-related support that benefits DAR. “Support” includes, but is not limited to, creating officially approved DAR websites and/or social media pages or updating them; creating or updating documents, spreadsheets, PDFs; assisting or creating images, certificates, name tags, directories; etc., hosting Video Conferencing, setting up or tracking e-payments, and all other technology-related support.
· A member defined in eMembership with a VIS Committee position, (current or past) may purchase the VIS Pin and is not required to document the 100 hours for the pin. (Chapter VIS Committee positions should contact National Vice Chair Deb Hvizdos, visadministrator@nsdar.org for approval.) The Blue 1-Star bar, and White 5-Star enamel bars must be earned.
· To become a VIS Superstar, submit your volunteer hours (current and past) via the VIS Log Record.
· For DAR Genealogy Preservation or Genealogical Records Committee indexing, hours may be earned for the VIS Superstar Pin Set provided those same hours have not already been submitted for the respective genealogical committee pin.
A member who would like to order the VIS Pin based on her VIS position should first contact the visadministrator@nsdar.org before submitting an order with the DAR Store.
The VIS Committee's excitement about the Superstar Pin Set program is contagious! If you need more details, contact me!
