I am pleased to announce the recipients of the 2023 DAR American Revolution Legacy Grants! 31 grants totaling $100,000.00 were awarded this year, made possible by the generosity of the President General's Project. A special thank you to National Vice Chairs Holly Hornsby Becker, Ariane Spidel, and Robyn Ratcliffe Manzini for their tireless work on the application, process, and judging for this new grant program. And thank you to our Executive Liaison, Organizing Secretary General Nancy Wright, for being such an advocate for this initiative.
An email communication will be sent this week to the awardees as well as the sponsoring chapters, detailing next steps on disbursement of funds and follow ups on outcomes/pictures, etc.
If your state or chapter has a recipient, please make plans to celebrate them and the grant during
National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 1-5, 2023 (some states/districts have standardized testing that has pushed their appreciation week to the following week - that is fine, too!). Consider recognitions like a Facebook post, check presentation, announcement in a local newspaper, or "shout out" during open comments at a school board meeting. Thanks to all of you for your continued support of this grant program as it evolves and improves in the upcoming year!
