Summer isn’t officially over, and your PR & Media Website Evaluation Committee is almost finished evaluating our summertime websites. (Note: We receive the approved websites from the VIS Committee for a particular month, and then we evaluate each one. It takes us a few weeks to compile our scores. We are currently studying the August sites, and the VIS Committee is helping chapters/states to complete the September sites. Please be sure to thank VIS Committee members for the meticulous work that they do in helping to prepare websites.)
Today, we are announcing the Website of the Month for July 2023. Congratulations to the General William Lee Davidson Chapter, NSDAR for creating a “sparkling” website which we know will appeal to prospective members and those who visit their website.
Here are some of the positive comments from our Public Relations & Media judges highlighting what they liked about the site. (We may throw in a few suggestions for improvement too.)
- The text on their home page is very welcoming. They do a good job presenting their chapter activities in terms of the three mission areas.
- Lovely site, lots of good info, easy to navigate and engaging - brava!
- Copy feels welcoming -- that Southern hospitality comes through! I would like to see more photos of chapter members. Pictures can help you tell your stories.
- Nice job of listing what your chapter does in the three mission areas. Good namesake history. Would like to see more of past chapter history. Add more pictures of your chapter in action over time. I do like how you keep the excel spreadsheet intact for the Patriots page so that it is easily searchable by different criteria. Good job making prospectives feel welcome to try a meeting.
- "What we do" page is great! It shows specific activities and highlights the mission areas. Love the use of the more unique blue/teal!
