Congratulations to the Albemarle Chapter, NSDAR, from Charlottesville, Virginia for being selected the July Website of the Month.
Once again, this month we evaluated six websites. Just because it’s summertime, doesn't mean that chapters aren’t putting in the work to promote their chapters along with serving their communities.
Your chapter’s website certainly “sparkles.” We appreciate all of the chapters who are creating websites, and each month it’s our responsibility to select the one that showcases itself in an outstanding way.
Here are a few comments from our Public Relations & Media judges highlighting what they liked about the site.
- This is a very welcoming site, especially with the comments about why some of your members joined DAR.
- Nice page layouts and use of blocks.
- What an impressive patriotic photo on your home page!
- This site is easy to navigate and follow.
- Fonts and colors are good. VIS compliance is there.
- Love the photos used that really portray the Virginia area.
- The quotes really give personality to the website and DAR missions are well represented. You even included an extra mission that specifies Community Service.
- Consider using left alignment for paragraphs instead of centered for easier readability. Busy background images can make it difficult to read the text.
- The brochure you created about Thomas Jefferson’s Escape Route is professionally done and represents some great research. You take your history seriously in Virginia, don’t you!
- Liked the story about your gavel, the Leashes of Valor link, and the Naturalization Ceremonies at Monticello.
- It’s great to see the “Join our Chapter” link on every page.
- Great site!
