We are pleased to congratulate the Brunswick Town Chapter, NSDAR, from Southport, North Carolina for being the March 2025 Website of the Month!

It’s exciting to see so many chapters creating and revising their websites. I know that searching for chapters is easier if prospective members can find our websites to actually see what we do.

When DAR websites feature their members demonstrating their work emphasizing historic preservation, education, and patriotism, other women may be inspired to join us. If you haven’t created a website for your chapter, please consider it. If you need help, contact your state’s VIS chair and your state’s Public Relations and Media chair. They can guide you through the process. Our communities are seeing us begin our celebrations for the semiquincentennial, and they may be wondering how they can get involved.

Our judges evaluated 20 websites for the month of March. Here are a few comments from our PR and Media judges highlighting what they liked about the site, along with a few suggestions to consider.

  • I think your website is outstanding!  Simple, but excellent. Great pictures, videos, links. All pull together nicely to showcase your chapter and the National Society. Some of the pages did not load that quickly, which is the only issue I saw. Well done!
  • I like the site for the photos and videos, along with information.
  • Mission areas clearly conveyed!
  • Overall--great website:  Review the font--looks to be light on some pages. Rework the home page so that the image fully loads and is 100% visible upon website opening. Good use of images to showcase member activities and involvement. Kudos! The bullet list of what you do is a great way to show the public and members how you support the tenets of the DAR.
  • Traditional look, but it shows chapter in action with information about accomplishments. “What We Do” section is great. I noticed some spelling errors, but you can correct them.
  • Great use of youtube DAR videos!
  • Nice website. Good pictures but keep adding. Good listing of activities and info about chapter meetings. Our mission areas should be listed in the order of Historic Preservation, Education, and Patriotism.
  • North Carolina template but does the job - good blend of text & stories in a simple, clean manner.
  • Thanks for sharing your sparkle!
