National Defense Committee - join us at the 132nd Continental Congress!

It's finally here!  Pre-registration and select national event tickets for the 132nd Continental Congress will go on sale on Saturday, April 15th!

We hope you will join the National Defense Committee at the Patriotism Luncheon on Wednesday, June 28th; you can purchase tickets at the same time that you register for Congress! The Patriotism Luncheon is hosted this year by the DAR Service for Veterans Committee with National Defense and DAR Project Patriot Committees in supporting roles. @Peggy Whitcomb@Dana Capaldi@Sandy Raynorhope that you will join us at the Patriotism Luncheon to Celebrate Stars & Stripes Forever!

And plan to stop by and visit the National Defense Committee at the no-cost "Sparkle in Service" committee showcase event on Friday evening, June 30th. Check the Congress schedule for more details.

Come to either event mentioned above and introduce yourself to me (National Chair) as well as several of our National Defense National Vice Chairs and Division Vice Chairs!  

Below are answers to a few questions you may have as registration opens on April 15th:

Q: Can I register online for Congress and then pay the fee later?
A: No, in order to register online, you must pay the non-refundable, non-transferable Online Pre-Registration fee with a credit card when you complete the Online Registration form. Online Pre-Registration is open from April 15—June 1, 2023. It is possible for members to register and pay on-site 
June 26—June 30, 2023 during the week of Congress, however, on-site registration fees are higher.

Q. I understand that Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Are the ticket fees for the six national event tickets that I can purchase through the Congress Website refundable? 
A: Tickets to the six national events purchased through the Congress Website do not allow for refunds.  Please contact the individual event planners (contacts are listed in the tentative schedule) if you have specific questions about the event tickets.

Q: Can I pay for my Registration online with a check or cash? Or does it have to be a credit card?
A: A credit card must be used for Online Congress Registration. Check or cash payments, in addition to credit cards, will be accepted for On-site Registration during the week of Congress.

Q: How do I purchase tickets to one of the six national events, but not register online for Congress.
A: You must be Registered for Congress to purchase and attend Congress events in Washington, D.C. The Congress Website does not allow you to purchase tickets to an event without also paying the Congress Registration fee.

Q: I want to Register for Congress, but I don’t yet know which of the six national events I want to purchase tickets to attend. Can I register for Congress and come back to the website later to purchase a ticket to one the six national events that are being sold through the Congress Website?
A: Yes! You can register yourself for Congress and then come back later (using the “Already Registered?” link) and add on tickets for the national events. Just make sure you get your tickets by June 1 when Congress event ticket sales close.

Q. Can I purchase multiple tickets to the six select national events? 
A: For the Units Overseas Luncheon and the Units Overseas Bazaar-only, yes, you can purchase multiple tickets.
For the other five select national events, you can purchase extra tickets if they are for the non-member guests you have registered. If the tickets are for a guest you have not registered, or a fellow member, you may not purchase multiple tickets to the other five select national events. Only members and 
guests who are registered for Congress can purchase event tickets and so you can only buy national event tickets for yourself and the guests that you’ve personally registered online.

Q: If I Register for Congress online and later determine I cannot attend Congress in Washington, D.C., can I cancel my Registration?
A: Yes, you can cancel your Registration online, however, the Online Pre-Registration fees that you paid will not be refunded. Congress Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
