Congratulations to The Detroit Chapter, which held its organizing meeting Aug. 19 at the historic Detroit Yacht Club! Organizing Secretary General @Nancy Wright was present for this sparkling occasion and shares these photos. Organizing Chapter Regent @Elizabeth Findeis and her fellow chapter officers were installed by Michigan State Regent @Kelly VanWormer. The mission of The Detroit Chapter is to: “To illuminate the rich tapestry of underrepresented history in our community by discovering and expanding on stories of families and their connection to ancestors from pivotal moments, such as the American Revolution. Through our efforts, we aim to bridge the past and present to foster a deeper understanding of our shared American heritage. In all that we do, we strive to instill the values of Patriotism, Education and Historical Preservation, as embraced by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Ultimately, we seek to spark curiosity, enthusiasm, and pride in the sharing of our collective history from one generation to the next.” Please visit the Today’s DAR Blog to read more about The Detroit Chapter in Mrs. Wright’s blog post about the organizing meeting!
