On Tuesday, Oct. 3, a beautiful crisp fall day at Arlington National Cemetery, Honorary Vice President General Yvonne Spann Boone was laid to eternal rest. Attending the private graveside service with family were the President General and Executive Committee. The Chaplain General gave brief remarks on behalf of the National Society. Yvonne was an 82-year member of DAR. She served twice as a National Executive Officer and was elected to the positions of Vice President General and Honorary Vice President General for life. Her passion was education and the DAR Schools. She served as National School Chair and on the Board of Kate Duncan Smith DAR School. At the service, Yvonne’s son asked the President General when his mother would be replaced. Mrs. Wright responded, “She can never be replaced; she was irreplaceable.” Rest in peace, our Beloved Yvonne.
